MedStat to Launch Aeromedical Program

MedStat, that is functioning in 10 counties in central and north Mississippi including Attala and Holmes Counties, unveiled a new program developed to better access to care for victims of traumatic injuries and serious illnesses in central and north central Mississippi. Company officials recently announced plans to base a medical helicopter in Winona. Company has its corporate headquarters in Winona.

MedStat has agreed upon a contractual arrangement with Metro Aviation of Shreveport, LA to provide the aircraft, pilots and mechanics and to maintain FAA abidance standards for the new program, to be known as MedStat AIR. Metro has a vast experience in providing medical helicopter services and at present functions 71 aircraft through the same arrangements with hospitals and ambulance services in 16 states.
